The budget of Bashkortostan for next year includes 300 million rubles for the World Folkloriada. The Minister of Finance of the Republic Lira Igtisamova at a meeting of the agrarian committee of the State Assembly noted that the region also hopes for financial support in holding this large-scale world forum from the federal center.
The World Folkloriada takes place every four years and is called upon to show the diversity of the traditional cultural heritage of mankind in an up-to-date modern form and contribute to its conservation. In the summer of 2020, Bashkortostan will turn into a unique theatrical stage for two weeks, on which about three thousand artists from more than 80 countries of the world will unite to present their traditional music, dances, folk crafts, cuisine, costumes, and stage art. At the same time, visitors to the festival will be able not only to act as outside observers, but also to engage actively in various interactive activities — to master the playing of folk instruments, try unusual national dishes, and learn the traditional arts of different nations.
The 6th World Folkloriada will be held from July 18 to August 1, 2020.
