It is planned to supply Bashkir koumiss and mare's milk to Kuwait and other countries of the Arabian Peninsula, the State Committee for Foreign Economic Relations RB informed.
The corresponding agreement was reached during a visit to Bashkiria by the chairman of the board of directors of the Kuwaiti company Almas Salem Al-Bianoni.
“Dry koumiss made in the Baymak region is supposed to be exported to Kuwait and other countries of the Persian Gulf,” the press secretary of the State Committee for Foreign Economic Relations RB Ilgizar Sanyarov shared with the Bashinform News Agency.
The next stage of cooperation with the Kuwait company Almas is the organization of tourist trips to Bashkir health resorts for koumiss treatment.
“Salem Al-Bianoni is confident of the viability of the project, as he already has a successful experience in delivering honey from Bashkiria to Kuwait and other countries of the Arabian Peninsula. Honey from our republic has been supplied to these countries for about a year. The entrepreneur plans to supplement the list of supplied honey products with hypoallergenic honey, ”added Ilgizar Sanyarov.
As previously reported by the Bashinform News Agency, the drink goes through the freeze-drying process.
“After recovery, the powder has almost the same properties as the original product, it retains all the useful properties. After restoration, the bacteria begin to work even more actively, ”said Akram Gorin, development director for the Baimak enterprise Ecoproduct.
The raw material for koumiss, mare’s milk, is also dried. It is also used as sports and baby food. The mare's milk is close to human milk in its properties.
Currently, manufacturers are preparing a joint program with Bashkir State Medical University, within the framework of which full-scale studies will be carried out on the medical properties of koumiss and mare's milk.
Bashkiria is today one of the leaders in the country in terms of horse breeding. The region's share in the gross production of koumiss is 45%.
The largest number of horses is concentrated in the Trans-Urals. In 2018, there were 121.5 thousand horses in the republic, the task for the next two years is to increase the livestock by one thousand.
