UFA, 16 October 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.

On October 16, the Robinson-4 helicopter owned by Rusavia Airlines landed for the first time in the territory of the Republican Perinatal Center. The pilot, head of the medical aviation department of the G.G. Kuvatov’s Republican Clinical Hospital and a patient from the Nurimanovsky district who needed emergency transportation to Ufa, were on board.

“The patient had a flight lasting 30 minutes. It would take us an hour and a half to go the same way that is we reduced the trip time by three times”, explained the head of the department of air ambulance of Republican Clinical Hospital Felix Sakaev by car.

The first helipad for sanitary air transport was prepared within three months with the funds of the Republic Development Corporation.

“We were commissioned by the head of the region to engage actively in the development of air ambulance. Together with the Ministry of Health and Gostrans, we developed a project for the construction of six such sites in Ufa and eight in the republic”, said Sergey Chikryzhov, Deputy General Director of JSC Development Corporation RB.

Next year, according to preliminary data, helipads will be equipped in Ufa near hospital No. 18, near the Nur Theater, the Toratau Congress Hall, the Biathlon complex, and near the Mega shopping center. The first purpose of these sites will be air medical service, the second — commercial purposes. Such "airfields" will be able to accommodate starting from 15 landings per month.

Today, patients requiring transportation to the capital of Bashkiria from the regions, according to Dmitry Toropov, Director General of Rusavia Airlines, are transported by An-2 airplane and Robinson-4 helicopter.

The Russian Ministry of Health approved an increase in funding for the development of air medical services in Bashkiria from 17 to 50 million rubles.
