Cruise liner “Mustai Karim” is launched in Nizhny Novgorod

Cruise liner Mustai Karim” was solemnly launched on September 11 at the plant “Krasnoe Sormovo” in Nizhny Novgorod. The ship is meant for river transportation of passengers along cruise routes Moscow – Astrakhan, Moscow-Saint-Petersburg through Ladoga and Onega lakes and Moscow-Rostov-on-Don through Volga-Don navigation channel. The liner is planned to be delivered for a customer in February 2020 and the first cruise will take place in May 2020. The Plenipotentiary of the President RF in Volga federal district Igor Komarov, Nizhny Novgorod district Governor Gleb Nikitin, acting President RB Radi Khabirov, president of JSC “United ship-building corporation” Alexei Rakhmanov, general director of “Russian River Register” Eugene Trunin, general director of the plant “Krasnoe Sormovo” Michael Pershin, chairman of the board of directors of the company “Vodokhod” Viktor Olersky, general director of the company “Vodokhod” Rishat Bagautdinov, general director of JSC “Mashpromleasing” Alexander Babitch, general director of “Naval engineering bureau” Gennady Egorov, director of Mustai Karim Fund Alfia Karimova and a shareholder of Mustai Karim Fund Timerbulat Karimov with his wife Inga Karimova have taken part in the ceremony. “Mustai Karim” is one of the first cruise liners in post-Soviet history. The steamship corresponds to the level of a 5-star hotel and designed as a “floating hotel” with observation salons, restaurants, bars, spa-salons, a fitness center, a hair-dressing salon and solarium. The ship’s length is 141 meters, the width – 16,6 meters and it can transport 342 passengers. Mustafa Safich Karimov (Mustai Karim) (1919-2005) is a national poet RB, the Hero of Socialist Labor, honorable arts activist of Russian Federation, honorable academician of Bashkortostan’s Academy of Sciences, a participant of the Great Patriotic War, laureate of Lenin and State Awards, a knight of war and labor decorations. Mustai Karim is a classic of Soviet multinational literature, dramatist and publicist, outstanding public activist, the author of more than one hundred poetic collections, more than ten dramas and creator of modern Bashkir literature. His art activity, addressed both to children and adults, is permeated with high ideals of humanism.
