UFA, 23 August 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The Plenipotentiary Representative Office of Bashkortostan in Moscow hosted the presentation of Bashkir honey and “honey” trips to the republic.
This is the first experience in promoting apiary tourism for the organizing team; they hope that honey routes can become the basis of the tourism business in Bashkiria. Muscovites and experts in the field of tourism were interested in how the Bashkir honey differed from other types, what was the uniqueness of the variety of Burzyan bees, the prospects for traveling to the honey region, and how to collect wild honey.
“National crafts and identities are unknown and mysterious for our guests. This exclusivity can become a point of attraction, ”said Zagir Kutluchurin, Director of “Welcome” LLC.
According to Anton Sergeyev, editor-in-chief of the journal “Rest in Russia”, a member of the Expert Council under the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs, today Bashkiria is one of the leading regions in terms of infrastructure development and tourism potential and this is due to good geographic location and natural factors.
Anton Sergeyev emphasized that a Burzyan bee was preserved in Bashkortostan and this was an important competitive advantage. Only the Burzyan bee gives honey that is collected once a year and is the very exclusive product that is found nowhere in the world.
The head of Bashkirskie Paseki LLC Sergey Muliukov believes that the opening of modern laboratories in the region will increase the export component and this will be an excellent contribution to the development of the economy and import substitution in agriculture.
RussiaDiscovery tour operator expert Konstantin Anuchin is sure that Bashkortostan will still have to achieve its tourism potential.
“Undoubtedly, honey will be one of the key brands of Bashkir land, but we need to look for new, no less interesting key points of attraction for tourism potential. We need to develop infrastructure, talk about our land at exhibitions abroad. After all, there is a huge historical layer in the territory for making sightseeing tours, natural heritage sites that can compete with the Caucasus, Crimea, Altai, which contribute to ecotourism and active recreation. The territory can host much more tourists, both domestic and foreign only because the culture of hospitality is in the genes of the region's residents. We need to find common ground with local tour operators and create routes that tell about the history of the region, show the cultural and natural heritage and aim at recurrency of tourists visits to the region”, the expert explained.
