Athletes from 76 regions of Russian Federation and 7 countries will perform at Russian Pensioners Games in Ufa

700 athletes from 76 regions of the country and seven foreign states (Czech Republic, Germany, Finland, Great Britain, Lithuania, France, Armenia) will take part in the 6th Russian Pensioners Games (Spartakiad). Competitions in table tennis, swimming, athletics, combined relay, shooting, chess, darts will be hosted by the Sports Training Center in Ufa, which was opened on the eve of the 53rd International Children's Games.
“Every year, the Games are becoming more and more popular and in demand. They covered not only all the major central cities but also many villages and towns in remote regions. Compared to 2014, the number of participants in the qualifying rounds has grown five-fold”, says the Chairman of the Union of Pensioners of Russia, the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Social Policy Valery Ryazansky.
A delegation of nine people will represent each Russian region. Women from 55 years old and men from 60 years old are allowed to take part in the Games. Eight participants will represent Bashkiria at the upcoming competitions.
The opening ceremony will be held August 24 at the Ufa stadium Dynamo. The closing ceremony of the Games is scheduled for August 27 at the Sports Training Center
