Ildar Abdrazakov releases his “Verdi” debut solo album prepared by one of the largest record companies Deutsche Grammophon.
According to the official website of the singer, the Russian bass signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon in 2017. The first album included fragments from the musical heritage of Giuseppe Verdi — arias and scenes from the operas of the great Italian composer.
A star cast, including Rolando Villiason and the Metropolitan Orchestra (Montreal), conducted by Yannick Neze Ségen took part in the recording of the album. It opens with music from the opera Attila, where Ildar Abdrazakov sings along with Rolando Villyason (slave Uldino).
Attila's part is the artist’s showpiece. In April 2018, after the performance “Attila” at the Liceu Theater in Barcelona, music critics called Ildar Abdrazakov “the best performer of the leader of the Huns” and “the true successor of the great Samuel Raimi”. Recall that in Ufa the premiere of the Attila opera staged by Ildar Abdrazakov and with his participation took place in the spring of 2019.
The album's release is scheduled for August 16, 2019. Ildar Abdrazakov is described as one of the best Verdi basses of all time in the official Deutsche Grammophon’s statement.
