Grain harvest is expected to reach 3 million tons in Bashkiria

This year, farmers of Bashkortostan will harvest grain and leguminous crops on an area of 1.7 million hectares (5% less than last year), of which about 252 thousand hectares are winter crops, as well as 48 thousand hectares of sugar beet and 396 thousand hectares of oilseeds. Today, the state of spring crops is predominantly good, except for the regions of the Trans-Urals, where the drought is observed. It was announced today at a briefing session in the Government by the Interim Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Ilshat Fazrakhmanov.
“This year we expect a grain harvest of 3 million tons, we plan to collect 1.3 million tons of sunflower, 850 thousand tons of potatoes, 320 thousand tons of vegetables, 300 thousand tons of sunflower, 50-60 thousand tons of rapeseed and mustard. To date, winter crops have been harvested on 33% of the area, 183.5 thousand tons of grain have been threshed with an average yield of 22.1 centners per hectare. The yield in spring crops is 18.8 centners per hectare,” said Ilshat Fazrakhmanov.
The leader in productivity is the Chekmagushevsky district, where local grain growers collect 37 centners of grain crops per hectare.
There are 3,634 combine harvesters in agricultural organizations of the republic. Over the past year, the republican agrarians purchased 1294 units of agricultural machinery for a total amount of 3.1 billion rubles. The subsidies from the republican budget for the purchase of equipment amounted to 636 million rubles. In 2019, 100 new combine harvesters and 40 modernized combines are involved in harvesting. ,37 elevators are available in the region for 2.5 million tons of crop. There are granaries and agricultural enterprises for 2 million tons.
