Today, the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Russia, Alikbek Jekshenkulov is paying an official visit to the capital of Bashkiria. During the trip, the diplomat visited the monument to the Bashkir poet Mustai Karim and paid a floral tribute to it.
“The values that our Soviet writers preached, including Mustai Karim, are especially in demand today when we lack spirituality and some universal values,” said Alikbek Jekshenkulov. “In Kyrgyzstan, Mustai Karim is treated not only as a great poet but also as a great friend of Chingiz Aitmatov.”
According to the Kyrgyz Ambassador to Russia, he personally has been friends and worked with the Bashkir poet, writer and playwright for a long time.
“He told me a lot about works, personal meetings, and therefore we came today to honor his memory. It's great that the Russian and Bashkir people remember him,” said Alikbek Jekshenkulov.
The ambassador promised that Kyrgyz politicians and cultural and art figures will take part in the solemn celebration of the centenary of Mustai Karim’s birth this autumn.
