Largest in Bashkortostan sports training center opened in Ufa

The Sports Training Center opened in Ufa on Wednesday, July 10.

The center is located in the Zaton neighborhood in Ufa and covers an area of ​​13 hectares. The total area of ​​the complex is 37 thousand square meters. It will be able to accommodate more than three thousand spectators. The Center for Sports Training has all the conditions for training: there are three pools for 50, 35 and 12 meters, field and track, training and sports halls, a hotel for 200 people, a canteen and a medical rehabilitation center.

“It’s twice as pleasant that we are launching a new sports facility on the opening day of the 53rd International Children's Games. This means that thousands of boys and girls get an opportunity to practice their favorite sport to become Olympic champions or just to grow strong and healthy citizens of our country, ”said Acting Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov at the opening ceremony.

The cost of the sports training center amounted to 3.5 billion rubles. The bulk of the funds were allocated from the republican budget; the amount of federal co-financing was about 250 million rubles. Sergei Kosilov, Deputy Minister of Sports of Russia, stressed that the new center could rightly be called one of the country's best sports facilities.

After the opening ceremony, the distinguished guests visited the sports facility. Olympic champions Alexander Karelin, Anastasia Davydova, and Alexander Popov, talked with young athletes, signed autographs and took pictures with them.

The audience was able to see a small air show, skydiving, and performances of young athletes. The new sports center in the framework of the 53rd International Children's Games will host competitions in four sports: Greco-Roman wrestling, swimming, fencing, and athletics.
