International parade in national costumes broke last year record in Ufa

An international parade in national costumes took place in Ufa. On the Day of Russia, the Day of the city and the birthday of Salavat Yulaev in the capital of Bashkortostan, a grand parade opened the "Heart of Eurasia" International Art Festival.
A year ago, on June 9, 2018, a record for the most massive round dance in national costumes was set in Ufa. 1192 — that was the official record figure. This year the record was broken. According to the organizers, only registered participants were about 2,700 people, many citizens in costumes joined them during the parade.
The parade in national costumes this year was first held in international status. Russians, Bashkirs, Tatars, Germans, Chuvash, Latvians, Ukrainians, Mordovians, Kryashens, Udmurts, Maris, Cossacks, Belorussians, Indians, Arabs, Tajiks, and other nations marched through a massive colorful procession. They were joined by students in national costumes of the peoples of Congo, Colombia, Vietnam, China, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries.
The St. Petersburg group "Ingervala" and the participants of the festival-marathon "Songs of Russia" under the leadership of Nadezhda Babkina performed on the stage. Bashkortostan at the festival “Songs of Russia” was represented by the ethnic-rock group “Argymak” and the folklore ensemble of song and dance “Miras”, and the project Zainetdin. In the second half of the program, the Russian group Bi-2 appeared on the stage, which performance was finished with the festive fireworks.
The “Heart of Eurasia” art festival will continue in the Ufa amphitheater for four days and will end on Saturday, June 15.
