900 km in 90 days, or "To know to understand". A 69-year-old Italian Francesca Filippi is traveling by bike from Moscow to Vladivostok. Residents of Bashkortostan met the traveler on the outskirts of Kazan last Friday. There she told about her “mission” to the staff of the Salavat Drama Theater. And on Sunday, June 9, she reached Ufa.
In the capital of Bashkortostan, Francesca was met by a delegation of locals and Italians who have been living and working in Ufa for a long time.
“Francesca is very fond of Ufa. She said that our city was clean and nice. She liked beautiful old buildings here, many monuments in the center and a pedestrian street”, the Ufa resident Ruslan Rakhimov shared on social networks. “We taught her to say the word“ Ufa” in the Bashkir language, showed how the kurai sounds, showed the national ornaments.”
Today, the Italian cyclist went to Chelyabinsk. She rides by bicycle about 150 km a day. Francesca admitted that she was charmed with Russian hospitality, but was frightened by unaccomplished waysides.
