UFA, 24 May 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The "Russian Museum: Virtual Branch" information center opens in the city of Sterlitamak. The grand opening will take place on May 30 at 15.00 at the address: Sterlitamak, Kommunisticheskaya Street, 84. This will be the second virtual branch of the Russian Museum in the Republic of Bashkortostan — the first was opened in the capital of the republic nine years ago at the Ufa State Institute of Arts.
Information and educational center will be located in the Sterlitamak Art Gallery — a branch of the M.V. Nesterov Bashkir State Art Museum., which for more than 20 years, is the center of the artistic life of the city. Here, at temporary exhibitions, works from the museum — Russian painting and graphics of the second half of the nineteenth-early twentieth century, as well as the works of modern Bashkir artists, are displayed.
With the opening of the “Russian Museum: Virtual Branch” information and education center, the gallery will become not only a meeting place with real works of art, but also an access to the “virtual world” of the Russian Museum — the country's largest museum, which collection covers a thousand-year period of the domestic fine arts development. The extensive collection of multimedia films, interactive programs and computer games created by the Russian Museum specialists will allow everyone to get acquainted with the Russian Museum itself, its collections and history, as well as the collections of Russian art museums — participants of the “Russian Museum: Virtual Branch” project.
The “Russian Museum: Virtual Branch” is a large-scale international cultural and educational project of the Russian Museum. For 16 years, more than 200 institutions of culture, education, and science have become the project participants. Detailed information about the project can be found on the Virtual Russian Museum portal www.rusmuseumvrm.ru.
