UFA, 23 May 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The Government of Bashkortostan will conclude a ten-year concession agreement with MedInvestGroup for the establishment of the Positron Emission Tomography Center (radiology) and the Radiotherapy Center at Sterlitamak City Hospital No. 1. It was discussed at the next meeting in the format of "Investment Hour" at the Acting Head of the republic Radiy Khabirov. The investor is promised support in the form of assistance with renting premises and resolving issues under the program of state guarantees of free medical care.
The volume of investments is 970 billion rubles. It is planned that the diagnostic center will be able to receive the first patients in the summer of 2020, the therapy center — in the autumn of the same year.
The project manager, Andrey Lukyanov, introduced those present to the investor’s activities. The MedInvestGroup group of companies develops in Russia a federal network of PET-technology medical centers, K+31 clinics, manufactures radiopharmaceuticals, owns a company that designs and builds nuclear centers.
In Bashkiria, MedInvestGroup is represented by the UfaVita pharmaceutical company, which employs more than 1.5 thousand people. Over the past three years, the company has paid over 1.7 billion in taxes to the republican budget, and in two years has invested 2 billion rubles in investments in the plant.
Since 2014, the Center for Nuclear Medicine has been operating in Ufa under a concession agreement, equipped with a tomograph, a cyberknife radiosurgical unit (there are only eight such devices in Russia) and the production of radiopharmaceuticals necessary for diagnostics. For five years, more than 23 thousand studies, 2 thousand operations were conducted, more than 1.5 billion rubles were invested.
Andrey Lukyanov noted that for the successful operation of the Sterlitamak centers it is necessary to ensure a flow of 3 thousand patients for the diagnostic department and 1.2 thousand patients for the department of therapy.
The radiological diagnostics center will operate in the building of the health center near the City Hospital No. 1 as proposed by the Sterlitamak city administration.
Investors will attract highly specialized doctors: the centers will need such scarce employees as medical physicists and diagnostics specialists. The Ministry of Health will direct “state orders” for radiation therapists to medical universities. The number of new jobs for the investment project will be 140. The center of diagnostics will employ 60 employees, the radiotherapy center 180.
The head of the Ministry of Health recalled that two more concession agreements were being prepared with MedInvestGroup to establish a center for radionuclide diagnostics and therapy at the Republican Oncology Center in Ufa and the creation of two chemotherapy centers in remote areas of the republic.
