Globally about security. According to TASS, on June 18-20 in Ufa at the 10th International Meeting of High Representatives Responsible for Security, the Secretaries of the World Security Councils of the world will discuss "issues of global and regional security, the solution of which requires the coordinated efforts of the entire international community." Russia will be represented at the meeting by Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev. Last year, representatives from 118 countries attended such a conference in Sochi.
Earlier, Nezavisimaya Gazeta (NG) reported that the head of the Security Council of Afghanistan, Hamdulla Mohib, would also attend the international conference in Ufa. “This will be Hamdulla Mohib’s first visit to Russia, which, according to NG Kabul experts, could be the beginning of a qualitatively new Russian-Afghan cooperation and not only in the fight against terrorism.” The invitation of the head of the National Security Council to the conference in Ufa is regarded in Kabul as an essential signal from Moscow about its readiness to change course towards Afghanistan. “So far, Russian-Afghan relations have confidently degraded,” says NG.
