Bashkiria is working to raise funds for the construction of the Eastern Exit — the highway connecting Salavat Yulaev Avenue and the M5 "Ural" federal highway.
“We hope that this year a decision will be made on the Eastern Exit. 1.5 billion rubles have already been prepared in the draft application to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation for the adjustment of the federal budget,” said Timur Mukhametianov, the Chairman of the State Committee RB for Transport and Road Management, at a meeting of the State Assembly Committee — Kurultay RB.
He also reported that last year the Republican road fund had been executed for 93%. 1 billion rubles reserved for the Eastern Exit project were not spent due to the lack of a decision by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.
The transport corridor with a total length of 13.8 km includes a 1.2-kilometer road tunnel, a 422-meter bridge over the Ufa river, a 2.1-kilometer overpass after the river, a 9.9-kilometer highway to the M-5 highway and a number of other objects. The total investment is estimated at 34 billion rubles. As it was stated earlier, the republic will be able to implement this project only on co-financing terms. The start of the project was repeatedly postponed.
