UMPO takes 500-million ruble loan to digitize new aircraft engine production

The Ufa PJSC “UEC-UMPO” will receive a loan of 500 million rubles from the Industry Development Fund under the “Digitization of Industry” program, according to the website of the Industry Development Fund. The fund provides loans to participants in the digitalization program at a rate of 5% per annum, and if the borrower uses domestic software or attracts Russian contractors, the rate drops to 1%.
UMPO plans to create a single information space to support and plan the production of the nodes of the newest civil aviation engine PD-14. The project will be implemented by the end of 2021, the result is planned to be replicated to other types of UEC enterprises products.
The PD-14 engine was developed in broad cooperation of UEC enterprises for the narrow-body medium-haul MS-21-300 aircraft using the latest technologies and materials, including composite ones. This is the first since the 1980s entirely Russian made turbofan engine for civil aviation and the first domestic engine, initially developed in accordance with the international norms and requirements.
