“A favorable investment climate has been created in Bashkortostan. Your republic has a good reputation among Austrian companies and investors. It suggests that your Government has offered very favorable conditions for business. ” This was stated by the Regional Director for Foreign Economic Relations with Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber Michael Angerer following the visit of the Bashkortostan delegation to Austria.
The Interim Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB — Head of the Government Office RB Ilshat Tazhitdinov thanked the Austrian colleagues for an opportunity to make a presentation at the Forum of Regions of Russia and Austria, which had been held at a high level. He reported on current investment projects and plans of Kronospan and Lasselsberger companies to expand production in the region.
In turn, Michael Angerer also paid special attention to the results of the participation of the Austrian delegation at the Agrocomplex-2019 Forum in Ufa.
“We were very impressed and pleased with the results of our trip to Ufa. We will continue cooperation with the republic”, noted Mr. Angerer.
According to Ilshat Tazhitdinov, at present, Austrian investors have invested more than 600 million euros in joint projects and are ready to invest an additional 200 million more.
“Bashkortostan considers Austria as one of the main strategic partners in Europe,” he stressed. “At the end of 2018, the foreign trade turnover with Austria grew by almost 20 percent and was at the level of 13.6 million US dollars. Bashkortostan supplies Austria with chemical and engineering products, metals and products from them, wood and pulp and paper products. Machine building products are mainly imported from Austria. ”
The impulse to further strengthening and expanding cooperation should be given by the opening of a representative office of Bashkortostan in Austria, work on which is already underway. A similar office is also planned to open in Turkey.
