“Nureyev Days” project started in Ufa on Rudolf Nureyev’s birthday

On March 17, the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater laid flowers at the memorial bas-relief, which became a good tradition of the theater. This year, it’s Rudolf Nureyev’s 81st anniversary.
The event was attended by Ilmar Almukhametov, Director General of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater, Leonora Kuvatova, Chief Choreographer, Nina Zhilenko, a journalist, theater ballet dancers, students of the R. Nureyev Bashkir Choreographic College.
The flower-laying ceremony took place in the framework of the “Nureyev Days” project dedicated to the memory of the outstanding ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev. In the evening, the theater hosted a premiere of the one-act ballet “What Stones Are Silent About” based on the history of the Shulgan-Tash Cave (music by Nikolay Popov, choreographer Rinat Abushakhmanov). The choreographic miniatures “Bashkir Legends” were also presented.
Today, the “Nureyev Days” program is continued by the 3rd Art Festival «Petersburg Seasons». On March 21 the project will be closed with a concert of the R. Nureyev Bashkir Choreographic College on the theater stage.
