UFA, 21 January 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The concept of the “Ancient Ufa” archaeological park was approved in Bashkortostan. The relevant government decree was signed by the Acting Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov.
The “Ancient Ufa” archaeological park will be located in the territory of the archeology monument of federal significance “Ufa-II Settlement”. The main purpose of its creation is to ensure the preservation and popularization of a unique object of the archaeological heritage of federal significance.
The “Ufa-II Settlement” archeology monument itself was opened in 1953 by the local historian Peter Ischerikov. In subsequent years, the study of the monument was carried out under the guidance of archaeologists Niyaz Mazhitov, Makhmuda Sadykova, Vladimir Ovsyannikov. Since 2006, systematic excavations have been conducted by a joint scientific expedition of Bashkir State University and the Research and Production Center for Cultural Heritage Objects Protection and Use RB. Since 2012, a monument of archeology is explored by the Republican Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Ancient Ufa".
Numerous findings of buckles, beads, earrings, as well as the results of radiocarbon analysis, confirm that the “Ufa-II Settlement” existed already in the 4th-14th centuries. There are 6362 museum objects in the funds of the "Ancient Ufa" museum-reserve today, including the archaeological, ethnographic and paleontological collections.
