The National Congress Bureau Association (NCBA) held a press conference at the RIA Novosti site, where NCBA representatives reported on key achievements for the first year of operation and announced further plans to promote the event potential of Russian regions in the international market of business events.
It was noted that over the past year, with the support of the National Congress Bureau, four major international events were attracted to Russia, the total economic effect of which was projected to be about 5 billion rubles, and the amount of tax revenues to the budget would exceed 550 million rubles.
The development of the regional congress bureau was one of the main topics of discussion during the press conference.
Nikolay Fadeev, the Director of the Congress Bureau of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Head of the Territorial Marketing Section of the NCBA was an expert at the press conference. Nikolay Fadeev marked the direct connection between the increase in the number of international events in Russia and the attraction of national scale events in the country's regions.
“Regional congress bureaus are becoming an effective tool for the development of priority areas of the regional economy, a platform for joint campaigns of science, government, business and society. It is exactly in this combination that the topics of the events that are really useful for the region should be determined,” said Nikolay Fadeev. “The key difference between regional congress bureaus and NCBA is its desire to attract nationally rotated events to regions. Through them, we have an opportunity to demonstrate the competences of the region and its growth points to Russian professional communities, draw the federal authorities' attention to pressing issues and propose options for their joint solution, and stimulate the interest of potential investors in regional investment projects”.
Nikolay Fadeev recalled that Bashkortostan was presented at the RUSSIA OPEN TO THE WORLD collective stand at two of the largest international industry exhibitions, such as IBTM World 2017 in Spain and IMEX 2018 in Germany.
By 2022, the NCBA plans to demonstrate a further increase in its performance targets. The multiplier effect for the Russian economy as a whole is expected to grow from 214.5 to 291.8 billion rubles. According to the rating of the International Congress and Convention Association ICCA for 2017, in which Russia took the 41st position, the number of international events held in the country made 87. The NCBA is faced with the task of raising Russia's position in the rating to 38th line and increasing the number of events to 117 and also directly contributing to attraction of 11 of them, the press service of the Congress Bureau RB informs.
