In early October Bashkir athletes will go to the Argentine city of Buenos Aires to compete for medals of the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games. The participants will be teenagers from 15 to 18 years old from 206 countries.
Bashkiria in the Russian national team will be represented by three sportsmen: swimmer Polina Egorova, archery Stanislav Cheremiskin, and Aigul Gareeva, who will perform in two cycling disciplines.
"Compared with previous Games, which took place in Nanjing in 2014, the program includes five new sports: break dance, karate, rock-climbing, roller-sports, and acrobatics. Two kinds of sport — squash, and polo — will be presented as demonstration ones", the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports RB reports.
