UFA, 5 September 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The Ufa Lemon Green House is being prepared for reconstruction. The issues of the greenhouse reorganization and increase in production volumes were discussed during a working visit to the greenhouse by the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Rustem Mardanov and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB Ilshat Fazrakhmanov.
According to the Minister of Forestry RB Marat Sharafutdinov, the experimental plantation of lemons is a facility to study this technology in the republic, to obtain crops and breed new varieties. Today, 1300 lemon trees of the "Jubilee" and "Tashkent" varieties grow and bear fruit in the greenhouse on an area of 1 hectare, which yield 20-22 tons of harvest per year.
"This is the first experience in Russia of cultivating lemons in a greenhouse", said Farida Sadykova, the head of the Ufa Lemon Green House. "Currently 7 lemon varieties are cultivated here and about 12 varieties for further cultivation are at the genetic research stage."
According to Marat Sharafutdinov, the level of technical equipment of the facility requires major repairs taking into account climatic conditions and modern approaches to the organization of greenhouses.
As a result of the greenhouse reconstruction, an increase in the volume of citrus fruit cultivation (lemon) and exotic papaya fruit is expected, as well as an increase in the volume of planting material, both fruit and berries, forest crops, and exotic ones.
As the Deputy Prime Minister Ilshat Fazrakhmanov noted, all the directions of the greenhouse activity should be analyzed, including ensuring comfortable conditions for visitors.
"Today, we need to raise the level of this facility to European standards, so that the citizens of the capital and the republic would be proud of it, and our guests from the regions of Russia and foreign countries could get a full range of services", said the Prime Minister Rustem Mardanov.
As a result of the meeting it was instructed to provide a preliminary assessment of the economic and social effectiveness of the reconstruction project, the Government of the republic reported.
