Bashkir archaeologists investigated early Middle Ages burials in Buraevo district

Archaeologists of the Institute of Ethnological Research of the Ufa Federal Research Center RAS explored burials of the early Middle Ages (7th century AD) during an expedition to Buraevo district of Bashkiria.
As the head of the archaeological study Alexander Kolonskikh told the Bashinform News Agency, the expedition lasted from July 5 to July 18. In the village of Bustanaevo there is a burial mound, which was found and described by Bashkir scientists in 2015. Until this time, works on this mound have not yet been conducted. An ancient settlement of the Middle Ages is located nearby.
During the excavations of the Bustanaevsky burial ground, the burials of the early Middle Ages were discovered, left by the carriers of the Kushnarenkovo archaeological culture. Fragments of a skeleton, jewelry, weapons, tools, and ceramics were found in the burials.
More than 40 people took part in the excavations. The study will be continued in 2019.
