On Wednesday, July 4, the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Science, Education, and Culture, a representative from the executive state body of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Liliya Gumerova, visited Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU), which is a flagship regional university.
The parliamentarian highly appreciated the successful educational, scientific and technical development of the university, the creative and sports achievements of the university students.
During the meeting with the rector of the University Ramil Bakhtizin, the issues of preparation for the 70th anniversary of the university and the 75th anniversary of oil and gas education in the region, which will be celebrated at the republican level, were also discussed.
Liliya Gumerova stated that the university was approaching its anniversary with good results and achievements. In the rating on the level of demand among graduates, USPTU today ranks 24th among the 100 best universities in Russia, it ranks 15th in the rating of 50 technical universities in Russia.
The Senator said that the university was actively working to develop international cooperation in the field of scientific and technical developments, an exchange of students and teachers, a large range of training and retraining programs for foreign specialists. Representatives of 67 subjects of the Russian Federation and 51 states of near and far abroad (Azerbaijan, Angola, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Cuba, China, Tajikistan, etc.) study at the university. At present, the Ufa Petroleum Institute is consistently ranked among the top 30 universities in Russia by the number of foreign students, which number constitute almost 1300 people at the university today.
The meeting also discussed the features of the 2018 admission campaign and issues related to reducing the outflow of graduates from the region.
