Bashkortostan and Saxony strengthen relations in religious area
UFA, 2 July 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
Guests from Saxony visited the Ufa and Sterlitamak communities. A delegation of representatives of the Evangelical-Lutheran church under the leadership of Bishop Karsten Rentzing met with the Russian archbishop Dietrich Brauer.
In the capital of Bashkortostan, Lutherans read a joint prayer, and after that, they took part in a roundtable dedicated to the issues of the church charity.
"The guests from Saxony visited a museum of Martin Luther in the Ufa Protestant church, as well as a Sunday school for children. In the course of the exchange of views, the members of the delegation noted with satisfaction such factors of our republican public life as religious tolerance, friendship between peoples, cooperation and joint humanitarian activities of representatives of various religious faiths — everything that exists in Bashkortostan and what Europe has yet to learn", Lutheran faith representatives in the republic reported.
As a gift, the guests received Bashkir souvenirs, while a model of the Christmas Star of Bethlehem and the Communion cup were left in Bashkiria.
