Bashkiria State Assembly deputies visited BMW plant in Leipzig and laid flowers to Soviet soldiers memorial

The day before, the official delegation of the deputies of the State Assembly — Kurultay of Bashkortostan headed by the Chairman of the Parliament RB Konstantin Tolkachev visited a BMW plant in Leipzig. This event took place within the framework of the official visit of the parliamentarians of the republic to the Free State of Saxony. A tour around the plant was conducted by representatives of the BMW management and the vice-president of the Saxon Landtag Andrea Dombua.
Then, the delegation met with the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Leipzig, Andrei Dronov. During the meeting, a political situation in the international arena, development of economic and cultural ties between Bashkortostan and Germany were discussed.
"At the end of 2017, Germany ranked sixth in the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Bashkortostan," said Konstantin Tolkachev. "In January-March 2018, the trade between the parties amounted to $ 80 million with a five-fold increase compared to the same period in 2017. In addition to the above, exports from Bashkortostan grew almost eight times".
Konstantin Tolkachev also noted that in Bashkortostan a production of Siemens AG power supply equipment had been organized, and a "Pishka" culinary-market with a wide assortment of national dishes of the Bashkir cuisine had been opened in Berlin.
On the same day, the delegation of the Bashkortostan parliament visited the cities of Meissen, where it examined the work of the State Porcelain Factory "Meissen GmbH", and Zeithain to lay flowers at the "Ehrenhein Zeithain" memorial, where Soviet soldiers who died in the prison camp were buried.
