Liliya Gumerova: "Regions should be involved in mass culture formation in Russia"

The First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Liliya Gumerova noted that the successful achievements of the subjects of the Federation should be actively used while increasing the Russian cultural presence abroad. The Senator from Bashkortostan stated this during a discussion on the topic: "Cultural and Educational Projects: History and Modernity" in the framework of the 4th International Livadia Forum in Yalta.
"The cultural heritage of any state is a key element of modern cultural diplomacy. Today, it is very important to synchronize all events – of federal and regional scale, to create an even more extensive base for promoting the best elements of Russian culture and the country's richest spiritual heritage in the world space", Liliya Gumerova said.
The Senator also noted that a multifaceted culture of Russia had been and remained an important channel for the unification and interaction of countries, peoples, and continents, opened up opportunities for peace, welfare, and harmony.
"Now we are preparing for the largest international festival of traditional culture — the World Folklore Festival. In the summer of 2020, the Republic of Bashkortostan will turn into a unique venue where for two weeks about three thousand artists from more than 60 countries of the world will unite to present their folkloric music, folk crafts, cuisine, costumes and scenic art".
The section was held in the House Museum of Anton Chekhov, with the participation of representatives of the countries of near and far abroad.
