Rustem Khamitov took part in bike marathon

The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov supported the All-Russian Day of Bicycle Parades. On Sunday, May 27, he took part in the "1000 Cyclists Day" sports festival.
Welcoming the numerous participants of the cycling festival, Rustem Khamitov noted that since this year the last Sunday in May was declared the Russian Bicycle Parades Day.
Together with the participants of the holiday, Rustem Khamitov drove 10 kilometers from Lenin Square to the Ufa Congress Hall.
At the site of the festival, the Head of Bashkortostan talked with cycling activists and examined the information on the state of the city's cycling infrastructure presented at the stand.
Rustem Khamitov in an interview with journalists said that he had covered the distance without problems, in an hour and nine minutes.
After the end of the marathon, a family and children's playgrounds, a concert zone were opened near the Congress Hall, various master classes and competitions were organized. As part of the event, charity events were also held to help orphanages and old people's homes.
The "1000 Cyclists Day" festival has been held in Ufa since 2011. Over this time more than 50 thousand people of the republic took part in it. The main goals of the festival are to promote an active, healthy lifestyle, popularize cycling as a kind of everyday transport, and also attract public attention to the development of cycling transport infrastructure.
Since 2018, the sports festival is held in the framework of the All-Russian Day of Bicycle Parades.
