Yesterday, in the House of the Republic the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with the president of the EkoNiva group of companies Stefan Duerr. The parties discussed the prospects for implementing investment projects of the agro-holding in the dairy farming in the region.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Agriculture RB Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, the executive director of LLC "Severnaya Niva" (Orenburg region) Peter Dubyansky, as well as the heads of Bizhbulyak, Belebey and Yermekeevo districts.
Bashkortostan is a major agricultural region that occupies a leading position in Russia in the production of milk, meat, grain, vegetables, as well as in the number of cattle.
“Briefly speaking, we have quite good, big agricultural sector. The volume of production is approximately 160-170 billion rubles. This is the sixth-seventh place in the Russian Federation", said Rustem Khamitov. “Moreover, we would like to move forward. We would like to reach the top five. Now we are starting certain reorganization, modernization of our agriculture. We need large enterprises. Today we are, certainly, looking for large investors who could apply new approaches in the agriculture development”.
Stefan Duerr said that EkoNiva successfully operated in Voronezh, Novosibirsk, Kursk, Kaluga, Tyumen, Ryazan, Orenburg regions. The total area of cattle-breeding farms of the agricultural holding is about 360 thousand hectares. The company produces 1,250 tons of milk per day or about 500,000 tons per year. It is planned to reach the level of 1.5 million tons per year by 2021, providing almost 10 percent of milk production in Russia.
EkoNiva incorporates 16 livestock complexes, four more are being prepared for commissioning. In addition, the construction of 10 more complexes has been started, which will be completed in early 2018.
“It is possible to build two or three such complexes per 6 thousand heads in total in Bashkortostan. The cost of one complex, designed for 2,800 goals, will be about 2 billion rubles. There is a good market here; you can provide the whole Volga region territory. Milk, which will be produced here, will become a good raw material for processors from Bashkortostan and neighboring regions", said Stefan Duerr.
The republic guarantees the company support in all directions, including in terms of infrastructure construction, subsidizing the purchase of equipment, Rustem Khamitov stressed.
The Russian-German EkoNiva group of companies was founded in 1994. Today it includes LLC EkoNivaTechnika-Holding, which supplies and services agricultural equipment, and LLC EkoNiva-APK Holding, engaged in agricultural production. The main activities of the agricultural holding are dairy and meat cattle breeding, plant growing and seed growing. In 2018 in Bashkortostan, a subsidiary of the company — "Severnaya Niva Bashkiria" was registered.
