Lottery regulations have changed in Russia

The Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law amending the procedures for purchasing lottery tickets and paying out winnings for them.
Henceforth, the law prohibits citizens who have not reached the age of 18 to participate in a lottery. Winnings will now be paid upon presentation of a passport by the lottery participant or with a different kind of identification, and it will become mandatory in case of winning of more than 15 thousand rubles.
Even when buying an electronic lottery ticket and receiving winnings on it for a similar amount, a participant will have to confirm his age by clicking an appropriate button. At the same time, it is established that in these cases identification is not carried out in accordance with the procedure provided for by the law on combating the criminal proceeds legalization.
