Salavat Yulaev won Avangard scoring six goals in first match of playoffs

The first match of HC Salavat Yulaev and Avangard (Omsk) finished in favor of the hosts of Ufa-Arena, which was attended by more than 6,500 viewers. In the first period, the Ufa ice squad upset the goalkeeper three times in seven minutes: Stanislav Gareyev, Maxim Mayorov and Teemu Hartikainen scored the goals. The Omsk coach German Titov was forced to change his goalkeeper.
After the first break the match scenario changed: for a minute the guests from Omsk twice hit the net of Andrei Kareyev. Dmitry Kugryshev and Maxim Mineyev were the scorers. Later, Linus Omark again gave the Salavat Yulaev a 4-2 lead after a pass by Gareev and Hartikainen.
In the third period Avangard pulled back the double advantage of Salavat. The head coach of the Ufa team was forced to replace Andrei Kareyev with Ivan Nalimov, who managed to save the net of the Ufa team.
Toward the end of the meeting, Salavat Yulaev with the help of goals performed by Philip Larsen and Teemu Hartikainen completed the first match of the starting playoff series with a victory — 6: 4.
