Bashkiria provided tourism services for 17 billion rubles in 2017

According to statistics, the volume of services in a tourism sector over the past year amounted to more than 17 billion rubles — this figure remained at the level of 2016. The state program for the tourism development for 2012-2017 has been completed in the republic and a new one, "Development of Incoming and Inbound Tourism in the Republic of Bashkortostan" was adopted till 2023, which envisages two fundamentally new approaches: transition to cluster development and promotion of Bashkiria tourism, recalled the Chairman of the State Committee RB for Entrepreneurship and Tourism Vyacheslav Gilyazitdinov at a final board of the department.
"If we celebrate the new events of the last year, I would like to point out: development of an Integrated Event Calendar of the republic, a launch of the Ufa-Beloretsk train "Legend of the Urals", a launch of a tourist brand development. The project "Carriage of Knowledge" for schoolchildren became the winner of the All-Russian competition of best practices and initiatives of the Agency of Strategic Initiatives in the category "Tourist Potential Development of the Region". For the first time in many years, information signs have been installed in the Abzelilovo, Beloretsk, Baimak, Kugarchi, Burzyan Districts of the republic. In 2016, more than six thousand tourists from China arrived in Bashkiria, and in 2017 cooperation began with the Isfahan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran", Vyacheslav Gilyazitdinov said.
As part of the nationwide and regional strategy, tourism is seen as a driver for the economy, the Chairman of the State Committee stated. According to forecasts, by 2023 the tourist flow, taking into account visitors to nature conservation areas, will reach 3 million people (now about 1 million), the number of foreign tourists will grow from 40 thousand to 100 thousand.
Following the results of 2017 in the national tourist rating of the regions of Russia Bashkortostan rose to the 11th place in the country and the second place in the Volga Federal District, having outstripped Tatarstan.
