The conscript soldier from Bashkortostan Rustam Nabiev, who almost died after a collapse of the barracks in Omsk, won the National NeForum Awards in the "The most reassuring blog" nomination.
The results of the contest among the country's bloggers and the names of the awards winners were announced in Moscow yesterday. The National "NeForum Awards" is a real "Oscar" among the events taking place in the Russian blogosphere.
The life of Rustam Nabiev was divided into "before" and "after" two years ago. The 23-year-old guy drafted into the army, was sent to the 242nd Airborne Training Center in Omsk. On July 14, along with the other paratroopers, he went to bed, and woke up already in ruins: the soldier was crushed down with concrete slabs, and he was rescued miraculously only in the morning. The soldier lost both legs, but in many respects due to his will power and support of his relatives, he did not give up on himself. He became a professional hockey player, won a champion title of the International Kontinental Cup as a member of the Russian national sledge hockey team. Rustam Nabiev married a girl who waited for him after the army, they had a daughter. The cheerful young man continues to achieve success and shares with it in his blog, proving by his example to thousands of followers that they should enjoy life through thick and thin.
