Bashkiria agrarians will sell not more than 150 thousand tons of grain to intervention fund - Ministry of Agriculture

UFA, 9 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/.

If the grain interventions are announced in the country, the Bashkir agrarians will sell to the state no more than 150,000 tons of grain. This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic Ilshat Fazrakhmanov.

Today the federal media published the information that the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, if necessary, can conduct grain interventions in early 2018.

"We are preparing for interventions, and if necessary, the first months of the year will be marked by the fact that we would adjust the process in the framework of the planned public funds", said the first deputy minister of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, Dzhambulat Khatuov, speaking at a conference of the National Association of Agricultural Exporters.

According to him, the ministry does not plan to liquidate the grain intervention fund and to abandon the mechanism of intervention.

"The volume of grain will be no more than 150 thousand tons. Depending on what price will be offered. In the case of the price of 5,5-6 thousand rubles per ton, it is not interesting and, most likely, we will wait. There is such a positive expectation that the price of grain will grow, given that exports are now increasing taking Turkey into account. Therefore, if Russians need 70, 40 million tons, 130 million tons of grain are planned to be exported. If this happens, I think that the price of 7-8 thousand rubles per ton — by spring is quite real", commented on the Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Ilshat Fazrakhmanov.
