Hundreds of millions of rubles will be directed to support native languages in Bashkortostan - Rustem Khamitov
UFA, 3 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/.
Several hundred million rubles will be allocated to support and develop native languages of the peoples living in the territory of Bashkortostan. These figures were announced by the Head of the Region Rustem Khamitov at a joint meeting of the Council on Interethnic Concord and Peace Strengthening and the Council of the Assembly of Peoples RB.
Recall that in September Rustem Khamitov signed a decree on measures to develop the state languages and languages of the peoples of the republic to implement the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation. The document assumes work on three key areas: development of a program to preserve and develop the state languages and languages of the peoples of Bashkortostan; annual grants of the Head of the Republic for implementation of projects aimed at preserving, promoting and developing state languages and languages of the peoples of the republic; as well as creation of the Foundation for Preservation and Development of the Bashkir Language.
"Each of these three areas will be provided with serious funding. It will be allocated in amounts exceeding hundreds of millions of rubles", said Rustem Khamitov. "In particular, the grants of the Head of the Republic will amount to at least 50 million rubles. The Foundation’s resources will also be about 50 million rubles, but this is only the starting figure. The program for the preservation and development of the state languages and languages of the peoples RB will significantly exceed the figure of 100 million rubles. Thus, this is a real breakthrough in financing activities in this direction. The funding is increasing not at times, but in dozens of times compared with the recent figures.
