The native of Bashkortostan from Tuymazy city, graduate student of Bauman Moscow State Technical University Marat Shafikov became a delegate of the World Youth and Student Festival that is taking place in Sochi, the Tuymazinsky Vestnik newspaper reports. The event brought together about 20,000 young people from over 180 countries. A unique educational, cultural and sports program is organized for them, aimed at uniting the world's population with ideas of friendship and peace. Every day there are discussion clubs, where the most important world problems are discussed: combating terrorism, issues of ecology and health.
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov took part in one of the festival events, which topic was "Society and Global Politics" and gathered a lot of visitors. Very few people were lucky enough to ask the minister a question, but Marat Shafikov managed to ask the politician two questions at once. First he asked the opinion of the minister regarding the Middle East development with the help of the newly created BRICS Bank, and then suggested creating a SCO and BRICS media center, which would broadcast globally.
"You are a foresighted person", said Sergei Lavrov commenting on the second question. "The BRICS countries TV channel is already being created. In the near future frequencies will be allocated for its broadcasting".
