Vladimir Putin called to support foreign agricultural machinery manufacturers

The Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the necessity to allocate additional funds from the budget for subsidizing foreign companies for agricultural machinery production with a high level of localization in the territory of the Russian Federation. The head of state raised this issue at a meeting on the development of agriculture in Voronezh.
Vladimir Putin said that the other day he met with German businessmen, some of which considered themselves to be Russian agricultural machinery manufacturers, since the level of localization of their production had reached a government-designated value. On behalf of all Russian producers of agricultural machinery, they raised the issue of continuing subsidizing the industry.
The government offered to allocate for this purpose 2 billion rubles out of 20 additionally set in the budget of 2018. These subsidies are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, but belong to the agricultural sector and play an important role in agricultural production, the AgroInfo specified.
