UFA, 16 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/.

Sochi hosts the 19th World Youth and Student Festival. More than 20 thousand young people from 180 countries of the world aged from 18 to 35 are taking part in the event, 200 of them are from Bashkortostan.

At these moments, the opening ceremony of the festival takes place at the Bolshoi Sports Palace. "The stand of Bashkortostan among the exposition areas of other regions is one of the most visited. Here, all guests are treated with honey", the "Bashkortostan" TV and radio company reporter Murat Zaripov informs.

The 19th World Youth and Student Festival will be held from October 14 to 22. Its goal is the consolidation of the youth world community, strengthening of international relations, development of interethnic and intercultural interaction. Among the participants there are leaders of youth non-profit organisations, young journalists, scientists and teachers, leaders of youth organizations of political parties, student governments, student sports clubs and just creative young people.

In our country, the World Youth and Student Festival was held in 1957 in Moscow, having become the most large-scale in the history of the festival movement — it involved 34 thousand people. They represented 131 countries of the world, which at that time became a record. At subsequent festivals, the number of participants was smaller, but the record for the number of countries that were represented at the festival was beaten. In addition, Moscow has become the northernmost point of the Festival in its entire history.
