Rosneft’s Volga Petrochemical Cluster will be created at Ufaorgsintez

UFA, 12 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/.

Rosneft intends to develop a Volga Petrochemical Cluster with its centers in Ufa and Samara. This was stated by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov during his speech at the solemn meeting dedicated to the Republic Day.

He noted a positive effect of the republic's cooperation with the company and told about the plans of the oil giant.

"The Agreement on Cooperation between Bashkortostan and Rosneft was signed. It is important that the company is meeting our proposals for large-scale social projects in the region, as well as expanding its production facilities", said Rustem Khamitov. "The other day Rosneft announced plans to develop the Volga Petrochemical Cluster with its centers in Ufa and Samara, and its readiness to invest tens of billions of rubles to the project".

Recall that in one of the sessions of the Russian Energy Week, the vice president of Rosneft, Igor Soglaev, shared his plans for creation of three petrochemical clusters. According to RBC, the company intends to allocate about $ 30 billion for these purposes. In particular, the development of the Volga Petrochemical Cluster involves the construction of a polymer complex for issue of 2.5 million tons of ethylene per year, as well as plastics of the aromatic series. In addition, Rosneft plans to develop Ufaorgsintez (a subsidiary of Bashneft), integrating the site with Samara and other European plants.
