Russians will be vaccinated against flu only with domestic vaccines - Izvestia
UFA, 13 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/.
In 2017, for the first time the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation will use only domestic vaccines for free vaccination, Izvestia reported. 58 million doses are purchased – by 10 million more than the last year. Their cost is 4.8 billion rubles, by 30% more than the last year's amount.
The Ministry of Health intends to vaccinate 40% of the population this year. In 2016, 38.5% had the vaccination. The target is 75%, as in developed countries.
The Natsimbio company (since 2015 it is the only supplier of vaccines included in the calendar of preventive vaccinations in Russia) confirmed that for the first time since the vaccination of influenza in our country, 100% of the vaccine was purchased in Russia, and only domestic raw materials were used at all stages of the technological process.
At the Mechnikov Research Institute Izvestia was explained that it was not just the issue of import substitution. Russia is the only country that produces all the existing vaccines against flu, and can provide them not only Russians, but also other countries. Domestic preparations are safe, because they contain not the virus, but its protein.
