UFA, 25 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/.
Problems with food security are not expected in the republic. Both milk and meat will be available, due to the grain availability, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov said in his interview with BST and Rossiya 24 TV channels.
"If in recent years we have been plagued by drought, this year was abnormally rainy. This, of course, brought its features and challenges to agricultural works. In 13 districts of the republic, we declared an emergency situation related to waterlogging of the soil, because we saw that crops had failed in a number of fields. We understand that nothing can be done there already", stated Rustem Khamitov. "But at the same time, we know that today we will have and have about 3 million tons of grain in the fields of the republic. If the weather is warm enough in the next two or three weeks, if the sun pleases us, then the planned harvest from our fields should be in the range of 2.5 to 3 million tons".
According to the Head of Bashkortostan, 2 million tons of grain is necessary to meet all the needs of the republic. The rest goes on sale.
