Ufa athletes arrived in Lithuania to participate in International Children's Games

On July 5, an opening ceremony of the 51 International Children's Games will take place in the Lithuanian city of Kaunas. The official delegation of Ufa, led by the deputy head of the city administration, Rustem Gazizov, arrived in Kaunas yesterday.
The athletes were accommodated on the campus. Today they are to take part in the festive opening ceremony of the event. On July 6, the first competitions will start, the press service of the Ufa city administration reports.
This year the capital of the republic is represented by 13 athletes in three sports: track and field, streetball and judo. In addition, about 1,500 athletes from almost 100 cities from all over the world participate in ICG-2017, including representatives from Mexico, the United States, Great Britain, Switzerland and Israel. Ufa this time is the only participant of the Games from Russia.
On the day of arrival, on July 4, the Ufa delegation met with the leadership of the International Children's Games, where the organizational issues related to the ICG in 2019 in the capital of Bashkortostan were discussed.
Today, representatives of Bashkortostan will take part in the General Assembly of ICG, during which a development strategy for the next four years will be determined and the membership of the board of technical commissions will be approved. Then a meeting with the Mayor of Kaunas is planned.
