A unique international art project "Along the Great Silk Road" started in Moscow. It united more than one hundred artists from three countries — Italy, China and Russia, which was represented by 50 artists from Bashkortostan. Together they gathered an exposition of more than 220 works, performed in a variety of styles. They present three different views of the world, showing both differences in the mentality of Europe and Asia, and the common features that help people in different parts of the world better understand each other.
The idea of the project, which involves a series of art exhibitions and art events on the route from Europe to Asia, was proposed by the Italian Qualitaly Cultural Association, which links long-standing cooperation with both the Bashkir artists and the World Federation of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. In Moscow, the project was actively supported by the Plenipotentiary Representative Office of the Republic of Bashkortostan under the President of the Russian Federation and the Department of Culture of the Government of Moscow. The "Exhibition Halls of Moscow" Association, Artime Gallery and "Imperium group" association provided exhibition halls free of charge. Printing and transportation support was provided by the Bashkortostan branch of the "United Russia" party and PJSC "UMPO".
Due to this support, the first exhibitions of the project started in Moscow at once on three venues: Artime Gallery in Kuznetsky Most, in the "Imperium group" exhibition hall in the "Cosmos" hotel complex and in three spacious halls of the "Belyaevo" Art Gallery — "Bashkir", "Italian" and "Chinese" halls. More than one hundred works by authors of different countries coexisted there with national souvenirs and author's models of clothing in ethnic style — the works by the Ufa artist Raushania Badretdinova and Italian Nikolinka Nikolova.
"The project reflects the actively developing ties of our republic with both the West and the East", Artur Shainurov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Bashkortostan under the President of the Russian Federation, said opening the exhibition in the Belyaevo Gallery.
The exhibitions opening in Moscow were visited by the delegation from Italy — the president of the Qualitaly Association Massimiliano Panero, the Art Director of the Association Nikolinka Nikolova and the artist of Italian origin from Brussels Concetta Mashullo. The project is designed for at least a year. The Moscow exhibitions "Along the Great Silk Road" will be completed in July, and then, as expected, will take place in St. Petersburg, Italy and China, the head of the press centre of the Plenipotentiary Office RB in Moscow Gulchachak Khannanova informs.
