UFA, 8 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/.
On June 8-9 in Astana, Vladimir Putin takes part in the meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. According to Kremlin.ru, during the Summit it is planned to discuss the current activities of the SCO and take an important decision for the organization — on granting India and Pakistan a status of full members. Various aspects of cooperation within the framework of the SCO to ensure regional security, deepen trade and economic cooperation and promote humanitarian ties will be considered. An exchange of views on current international problems will be held. Vladimir Putin will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders of a number of states; he will take part in the opening ceremony of the "Astana Expo-2017" exhibition.
Recall that the previous meeting of the SCO Council was held in Ufa in 2015. The next meeting may take place in Chelyabinsk — the neighbouring region submitted an appropriate application.
